The primary compartment is large enough to hold the day's gear - lunch included. There's also an outside zippered pocket (2x7x11 approx). There are 4 compression buckles (2 high and 2 low on each side) for attaching skis - snowshoes - or boots or providing a snug fit to the internal cargo.
